Neetu Singh

Neetu Singh, Founder of Shades of Rural India, works as an Independent Journalist. She has 10 years of experience in Rural Journalism with focus on women empowerment, sexual and gender based violence. As an Independent Journalist, she is currently raising and reporting issues from several remote villages in Madhya Pradesh, Bundelkhand, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh etc. which are neglected by mainstream media. Six time winner of Ladli Media and Advertising award, Neetu has worked as senior reporter in Gaon Connection from 2016-2021 and program producer & presenter with Waqt ki Awaaz from 2011-2016. She won the Chameli Devi Jain Award for Outstanding Women Media persons in 2020 and the Priyanka Dahele Award for a young promising Journalist for the 10th Edition of the national LMAAGS 2020. She works as a Community Journalist Trainer and has actively engaged in increasing the participation of girls in Journalism. Her consistent reporting of cases of gender-based violence in Rural India has led to effective police action and justice for survivors.
