Dr. Sandeep Pandey

Dr. Sandeep Pandey is patron of Badlav. Dr. Pandey is an Indian social activist. He co-founders Asha for Education with Dr. Deepak Gupta and V.J.P Srivastava while working on his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley.
Mr. Pandey is an alumnus of the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (now Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi). Thereafter he did his Master’s in manufacturing and computer science from Syracuse University, followed by a doctorate in control theory at the University of California, Berkeley, which he
completed in 1992. He leads the National Alliance of People’s Movements (NAPM), the largest network of grassroots people’s movements in India. He was awarded the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 2002 for the emergent leadership category. He led an
Indo-Pakistan peace march from New Delhi to Multan in 2005. He is Ex. adviser to the Indian government’s Central Advisory Board for Education (CABE).

Apurva Chiranewala

Apurva Chiranewala is a Kolkata born entrepreneur and philanthropist who has been actively involved with social action groups. He has also founded a social enterprise, Ads In Motion, for empowering migrant laborers and piloted one of India’s first electric-powered cycle rickshaw projects in Gurgaon, Haryana.
Mr. Chiranewala believes in creating self-sustaining social enterprises and in working with groups that solve the root cause of a problem instead of just suppressing the symptoms.He is a firm believer of the adage “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”.

Farrukh Rahman Khan

Mr. Khan is presently leading Water Aid’s Program as a Regional Manager in North India. As a development professional, Farrukh has been working on equity, inclusion and rights issues for the past 18 years. He has worked with a number of international development agencies including Care, Find Your Feet, and Oxfam. He also held key portfolios at the state, regional and national levels. Farrukh has also been associated with a number of pro people rights based campaigns and movements for identity, citizenship rights of urban poor workers, right to education, farmers campaigns and waste pickers and manual scavengers’ movements.

Sharad Patel

Sharad is the founder of Badlav. He is a young & passionate social entrepreneur, from Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, associated with various social movements. He is a research scholar in social work at Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow.Mr. Patel is Convener of Bhikshavratti Mukti Abhiyan and President of Badlav. Mr. Patel has been a fellow of the Changelooms during 2014-15, Changelooms UnManifesto for inclusion and governance (2015).

Mrs.Mandira Chakravarty

Mrs. Mandira Chakraborty is a Vice President at Badlav and she was formerly a teacher in St Fidelis College, Lucknow, where she taught Mathematics and Physics. An ardent social worker, Mrs. Chakravarthy participated in the Times of India initiative for teaching underprivileged children in 2009, post retirement. She is also associated with Asha Parivar, an NGO, working towards the betterment of slum dwellers. She, along with two other friends, started teaching the children sitting on the divider of a road. Then gradually she tried and got them admitted to different schools and continued looking after their daily educational needs.

Mrs. Asha Dubey

Mrs. Asha Dubey has been associated with many social and charitable organizations in different locations. She is also a Vice President at Badlav. She is actively involved with two other social organizations. She, along with her family members, founded a trust in memory of her father Ch.Raghuraj Singh a former MP of Etawah. She is the chairperson of this Trust, which is providing many services to the needy such as eye check-ups, medicines, glasses and eye surgeries. In Lucknow, they are also associated with ASHA PARIVAR which is run under the guidance of Dr. Sandeep Pandey, a Magsaysay award winner.

Chunni Lal

Chunni Lal from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India is an experienced social worker. He is the co-founder and Vice President of the organization. He worked as a project coordinator for Asha Samajik Vidyalaya at Asha Trust from 2007-2012. He has a great experience in working at grassroots level. He is a post-graduate in sociology from Lucknow University, Lucknow.

Rufina S Nair

Rufina Siddhartha Nair is a young, active and optimistic woman from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. She is vice-president of the organization. Rufina comes from a philanthropic family. Rufina’s father is a social worker and he has always been her inspiration. Rufina works as a case worker for children with learning disabilities in Multinational school, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Mahendra Pratap

Mahendra Pratap is a social entrepreneur from Basti, Uttar Pradesh, India. He is a co-convener of Bhikshavratti Mukti Abhiyan and also a Co-founder and Secretary of Badlav. He has developed his skills ambidextrously at grassroots level handling. He has completed his post-graduation in Social Work from Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow in 2015.

Priyanka

Priyanka is a young social entrepreneur from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. She is working as a case worker in Asha Jyoti, operated by the Ministry of Women and Child Development. Priyanka is a young, progressive and optimistic young woman. She is the Deputy Secretary of the organization. Priyanka has received a Masters’ Degree in Social Work from Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow in 2015.

Abhishek Patel

Mr. Abhishek Patel is a young social activist and RTI activist from Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, India. Mr. Patel has done commendable work to highlight corruption prevalent in many departments at the district state levels. Mr. Patel has also done great work in the field of Food and Civil Supplies. He has worked hard towards proper and fair execution of the public distribution system. He is a Co-founder and Treasurer of Badlav and a student of Master of Social Work at Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow.

Neetu Singh

Neetu Singh is from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. She is a member of the organization. By profession, Neetu Singh is a journalist with the Gaov Connection. Her role involves reporting social issues at the grassroots level. She has seven years of experience in journalism. She has completed her post-graduation in journalism from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University, Kanpur. She has been honoured with the Malala Award for girls Education and Safety by the Uttar Pradesh government. She has also received awards from Hindustan Newspaper, Kanpur. Along with these, her recent achievement is the Ladli Media and Advertising Award which she received in 2018.

He is a member of Badlav and a researcher from Abdul Kalam Technical University Lucknow.

Nishtha Agarwal

Nishtha Agarwal is an entrepreneur with over 9+ years of progressive startup and corporate experience into leadership position, heading and managing operations with a classic combination of business and technical skills. She is the technical head in Badlav and her key expertise lies in operations, product management and process optimisations.
